When I spotted this dress in store, I thought to myself how good it would look to be worn as a denim waistcoat. But I am glad I took it into the change room and try it as it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise!
Horizontal stripes are such a closet staple for almost everyone. However, I’ve always shied away from wearing them in fear of they are going to make me look wider. But I have told myself: hey, you are writing a fashion blog, you should push yourself out of your comfort zone from time to time because there is no limit in fashion! So here we go!
Flip through nearly every single magazine, fashion site and blog, you will find all sorts of culottes jumping off the pages (and screens). But somehow, I haven’t hopped on the culotte bandwagon till recently. They are chic, they are comfy, and they are tricky. This wide-legged pant style can be quite controversial – very polish or super mumsy (in a bad way). Ahead was my first attempt in styling these pants-of-the-season.
My quest for button-down shirts is always a struggle. As a busty girl, nine out of ten times I will end up in two situations when trying to fit myself into a store-bought button-down – peek-a-boo or potato sack. Hence, I was quite reluctant to jump on this denim shirt dress trend no matter how much I adore those cute indigo numbers. My mind didn’t change till I saw this fringed denim shirt dress on Boohoo.
Growing up as a girl who likes her basketball more than her makeup (I didn’t buy my first makeup set till I was 19…), I always have a soft spot for the Sports Luxe trend. I wish there were such a thing in my teenage years, so that I would have enjoyed wearing my athletic gear but still feel feminie. God bless those designers who incorporate mesh and jersey into daily wear. With a couple simple styling tricks, we can finally rock that comfy sweater dress whenever we want.
Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t been updating my blog for over a month! To ease myself into writing again after almost two months of madness (and laziness), I’d like to start with a quick update before tackling the photos galore from Fashion Week Australia (which took place in mid-April…).
