Chatswood is one of those suburbs Mr. D and I like to frequent together on our days-off but we seldom eat there (except for Tim Ho Wan). The other day we were walking down the main street in Chatswood around dinner time, and all of a sudden a craving for dumplings struck us both! This was when we remembered about New Shanghai, a dumpling spot our friends have told us ages ago.
You know how sometimes you overlook things that are most accessible to you? Like that time you were looking for your glasses while you were wearing them, or the other time you searched your entire house for the TV remote but of no avail even though it was sitting right next to you on the couch the whole time? PappaRich is exactly like that to me. I have visited their Broadway joint so many times but it has never struck me that I still haven’t written anything about it yet. So here’s the long overdue review on this popular Malaysian restaurant.
If there is a dish I can eat every single day, it will be dumplings. For Mr. D? That will be dumplings AND pizza. So the other night, he was all excited to take me to Via Napoli’s newest joint in Surry Hills.
As a couple who have been together for a long time, Mr. D and I have several suburbs we tend to frequent together on our days-off. So when he suggested us to do a little exploration in a different area, I gladly suggested Kirribilli – mainly because I have heard so many good things about Kirribilli Seafoods.
To be frank, I struggled quite a bit before I started writing this blog post. My fellow Sydney-based foodies will understand what I am talking about – what can I possibly tell you about Black Star Pastry that you haven’t read about in a gazillion blogs and reviews? It is one of the most famous patisserie joints in Sydney after all. Hey, but if your recently-turned Sydneysider friend dragged you back to the same place within a week after her first visit, it deserves a post. So here are some tasties we have chowed down at Black Star Pastry.

Hello everyone! Some of you have probably been sick of seeing these Nutella doughnut ball milkshakes in your social media feeds. I have also posted it on my Instagram but wanted to do a more detailed review. So, click ahead, and let’s chow down! 😉
Happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far. Speaking of weekends, Yum Cha is definitely one of the most classic family activities for Hongkongers to do on Sundays. I was so excited the famous Hong Kong Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant, Tim Ho Wan, has finally hit Sydney. Ahead was my first visit to their Chatswood branch with Mr. D a while ago.
Growing up with parents who constantly stress on the importance of fresh produce, I always have a soft spot for naughty food like instant noodles and fried chicken (it’s perfectly normal to crave for something you can’t get, right?). And to soothe my craving, Mr. D and I decided to try Arisun in the CBD.
To be honest, I don’t usually eat at Entertainment Quarter. But the other night Mr. D and I were there to see Hobbit 3, so we decided to get some dinner before the movie. We got there at around 6ish, which is really early for Entertainment Quarter during the week. And Bavarian Bier Café was actually one of the busier restaurants that night.
