What is a successful advertising campaign for makeup? It is when your man tells you he is seeing a particular cushion foundation everywhere and he knows exactly which brand it is (should I be worried?), and your girlfriends keep asking your opinion on the product, you know it’s time for you to succumb to the ad and get your hands on the product. Yes, I am talking about the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation.
Ever since my first cushion foundation purchase a while ago, I have become a bit obsessed with this particular format of foundation. L’Oreal Paris is one of the first drugstore beauty brands to release cushion foundation in Australia and the cushion foundation itself is getting so much hype lately since its launch. So I took advantage of a recent promotion at Priceline and grabbed one of these.
The compact features a metallic pink cover, a mirror inside, a soft pink plastic base to house the micro-aerated cushion and a compartment to store the puff. The case is a bit smaller than my Sooryehan’s one but it also feels less luxe. That being said, the lighter weight and slimmer design of the case do make it quite an ideal travel companion.
This cushion foundation comes in six different shades (RRP $29.95 ea), and the one I got is #7 Golden Beige.
Here is my just woke-up face…
As you can see the Golden Beige colour blends in perfectly with my natural skin tone! I have also tried Rose Beige in store which is just a tad lighter than my natural skin tone.
I am all about a light coverage so I just dab the puff lightly all over my face to achieve a dewy finish. But the foundation is totally buildable if you are after a medium coverage.
When your base make-up is done right, the rest of your beauty look is easy!
The foundation formula contains SPF 29 for sun protection. However, I still won’t skip my sunscreen. After all, this is the Aussie sun we are talking about here.
The application puff is non-absorbing, antibacterial, and washable. It is quite soft to use but still not as soft as the Sooryehan’s one. I also tend to get a bit too much foundation onto the puff as the whole cushion foundation is exposed directly to the puff. What I generally do is to dab the puff a couple times on the back of my hand to get rid of extra foundation and to even it out on the puff.
Overall, this cushion foundation provides a great coverage with a long-lasting dewy finish. For $29.95, you really can’t fault this drugstore gem.
Have you tried this cushion foundation yet? Do you like it?
