The Rabbit Hole Organic Tea Bar

As a tea lover myself, I have been waiting to try The Rabbit Hole for quite a while. So when my friend suggested us to go get brunch there, I immediately jumped on the chance and said yes. We went there at around 11ish on a Saturday morning and the place was quite packed. Luckily, we didn’t need to wait for a table.

Just a glance of the menu and you will realise everything has something to do with tea. I ordered one of their original teas – Grey Rabbit and my friend went with their daily special Tea Soda. It felt a little funny that they sent out our food before bringing us our drinks.

Either way, I am going to talk about our drinks first. According to the menu, the Grey Rabbit is an Earl Grey tea with the essence of real bergamot. I was expecting an aromatic kind of Early Grey so I found myself a bit disappointed as the Grey Rabbit turned out to be a little too bitter for my liking.

The Tea Soda differs daily. The one my friend got has a very lovely flavour of plums and it was delicious! Plus, the good look certainly helped!

Moving on to the food, we both got the Breakfast toast adventure with black tea chutney, spinach, bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The black tea chutney gave the dish a certain degree of sweetness and acidity which almost felt like some sort of jam for the toast. The rest of the ingredients brought in the saltiness to finish off this tasty sweet and savoury dish. Portion-wise, it was decent. But for those who are looking for a big brekkie, you may want to get your hands on some of their house made sweets as well.

It was definitely a very interesting experience to try a tea-inspired menu. Do you like tea? Will you try a tea-infused dish?
