Starting in Korea, Asian girls have been sporting the Korean style gradient or petal lips for some time now. I was wondering when the rest of the world will pick up this super cute lips look the other day. Then SCOUT Cosmetics emailed me their take on this beauty trend (speaking of answers from the universe…). So click through and see how it works!
SCOUT Cosmetics is an Aussie beauty brand that creates natural makeup and skincare products. Their mineral makeup line is 100% Australian made and free of parabens, definitely a great alternative to those who are into mineral makeup.
The two lip products I received are Mineral Lipstick – Truth (RRP $29.95) and Mineral Lip Gloss – Adore (RRP $24.95). Both of them contain Vitamin E, Jojoba seed oil and organic citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) which make them very comfortable to wear.
So, how do we obtain the gradient lip look? First of all, you need to have two shades of lippies – a deeper one and a lighter/nude one. As both the SCOUT lipstick and lip gloss are on the lighter side, I threw it a hot pink lippie of my own for a better result.
Step 1: Apply a deeper colour lippie (pink, red, orange…whatever your go-to hue is) to the middle of your upper and lower lips.
Step 2: Apply a lighter pink lippie or a nude concealer to the outer edge of your upper and lower lips. The one I used here is SCOUT Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick – Truth.
Step 3: Finish off with a light pink or transparent lip gloss on the very edge of your upper and lower lips for a juicy looking pout finish. The one I used here is SCOUT Cosmetics Mineral Lip Gloss – Adore.
The finished look makes the lips really pop. It will help girls with thinner lips to achieve the voluptuous lips look they want. I find it to be quite a quick and easy way to spice up my regular beauty look.
If you want the bold colour to stand out even more, you may skip step 3 and just stick to a deep colour lippie and a light one for steps 1 and 2.
Have you tried this gradient lip look before? Do you like it?
*Thanks SCOUT Cosmetics for providing the product sample, but the opinions is mine as always.
