“Ah, Rimmel you did it again!” This is all I can think of when staring at Rimmel London The Only 1 lipsticks. Combined it with a good cause to empower all Australian women? I don’t even know where to begin! So without further ado, here’s my review on this new range of lippies.
The Only 1 Lipstick comes in 12 shades (RRP $15.95 each). When six of them and Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner – 102 Peachy-Beachy (RRP $12.95) came in my mail, my eyes just lit up like a Christmas tree!
The six colours from top to bottom are:
#110 Pink A Punch
#120 You’re All Mine
#510 Best Of The Best
#610 Cheeky Coral
#700 Naughty Nude
Before I show you how each shade looks on my lips, I have to point out the colours of this range are true-to-the-bullet! As you can see from the packaging, each lipstick has a colour ring on it to indicate its colour. And boy was it accurate? You bet! That ring is showing you the exact colour you will get on your lips!
#110 Pink A Punch delivers a vibrant and powerful pink as its name suggests. It isn’t a colour I will normally pick for myself but I am very glad I get to try it as it is such a fun shade to spice up any plain outfit. If you are into Korean dramas, this is the colour that will translate your inner K-pop queen.
#120 You’re All Mine is slightly softer than #110 Pink A Punch but still delivers a very bold pink with a hint of cold undertone. It will compliment those with fair skin tones really well.
#510 has got its name right from the beginning – Best Of The Best. You just can’t beat a classic red lippie! The ravishingly beautiful red shade will carry you from work to play in a swipe.
Since the lip liner I have received is in Peachy-Beachy, I tried it with the #600 Peachy-Beachy lipstick. It is almost like a fluro kind of peachy colour. Again, it’s very K-popish and definitely works better on fairer skin.
If you love bold lippies, you are going to love #610 Cheeky Coral. The eye-catching hue guarantees a high-impact impression.
#700 Naughty Nude is not as naughty as its name suggests. In fact, the rosy nude colour is super-wearable! It reminds me of my all-time favourite – Bobbi Brown’s Sandwash Tulle (read review here). I can totally see this blends in seamlessly with my day-to-day natural beauty look.
I have to say Rimmel have really outdone themselves with this lipstick range. All six lippies are very lightweight, moisturising, and comfortable to wear. Yet, the colours are so vibrant and stunning. Just one swipe and you will get this full and luminous coverage. Wear-wise, it can stay put for hours if I am not drinking and eating. But I am perfectly ok with reapplying after meals.
So the lipsticks are great but what about the good cause I have mentioned earlier? Last year, I have talked about a not-for-profit organisation called Dress for Success that helps empower women to achieve economic independence. As part of the launch of The Only 1 Lipstick, Rimmel has partnered with them for a Lipstick Revolution campaign.
Simply visit www.theonly1.com.au and upload a photo with your choice of a lipstick shade. A cute image of you together with your name in the revolution will be generated. Share your image to Facebook or Instagram and include #DressForSuccess, #LipstickRevolution and @RimmelLondonAU. Rimmel will donate one product to Dress for Success for each shared image. What are you waiting for? Pucker up, girls!
*Thanks Rimmel London AU for providing the product samples, but the opinions is mine as always.
