Happy Valentine’s Day! There is something the off shoulder cut just speaks to me – it’s sexy but not as into your face as a deep V plunge neckline, perfect for going on a date.
One thing about the off shoulder trend in these last couple seasons is that `70s vibe. So I decided to run with it and paired my off shoulder top with a nude colour suede skirt.
I have to say this top from Boohoo has to be one of the best pieces I have ever got from the brand. Although it is made of polyester, it is surprisingly comfortable to wear. The sleeves drape beautifully and the frill details add a very romantic accent to the top. If you are looking to jump on the bandwagon but don’t want to splurge, this top may just be the answer.
For those who get annoyed by the popping-up sleeves of an off shoulder top, check out this Refinery 29 post here. Basically you just need two hair-ties and four safety pins. Attach two safety pins on one of the hair-ties, and then pin the hair-tie onto the top of the inside of your top. Repeat the steps on the other side of your top and you are good to go. This simple hack will help your sleeves stay put, aka no more pulling-the-top-and-fixing-the-sleeves awkwardness! Woohoo!
Are you into the off shoulder trend? How would you style it?
