A lot of you know about the tradition of wearing red on Chinese New Year. Since red is not really my colour, I picked something bright instead.
I know you are probably sick of seeing me in a full midi skirt but I just couldn’t help myself to fall in love with this one when I spotted it in H&M. The skirt is in a very similar cut as the green floral one I wore on Melbourne Cup Day. Only this time the skirt is made of a sturdy bonded fabric with yellow lace on top of a marl jersey layer instead of unlined scuba.
However, the heavy material also tends to weigh the skirt down a little. So for those who are in between sizes, you may want to size down.
Since the skirt is in such a vibrant colour, I want to introduce a second bold colour without overdoing it. I stick to my trusty cobalt blue accessories and tie everything together with a denim shirt. It may sound a little cliché or even look too matchy-matchy to some people but sticking to the same colour family is the easiest trick in pairing bold colours.
Do you wear bold colours often? If so, how would you style them?
