Hi, everyone! Leading to Christmas, I would like to share with you a little Christmas pressie I’ve got myself. I am sure some of you have already heard of Marie Claire has launched its own beauty box – The Parcel. And after looking afar from a long time, I have finally ordered the first `Parcel’.
Marie Claire Australia has two beauty boxes at the moment – The Parcel by Marie Claire, and The Marie Claire Ageless Parcel. Unlike a lot of other beauty box subscriptions, the Marie Claire ones deliver quarterly, which means you will only get four boxes a year. As a test run, I signed up for the Seasonal Subscription for AUD $25 per box with no lock-in contract.
The one I got here is the 2015 summer edit of The Parcel, and it came with a product description card and a product ingredient list. Here are the goodies inside the box:
Maybelline New York The Colossal Pumped Up Volum’ Express Mascara (Full Size)
One of the newest mascaras from the brand, and I’d like to trial it out and do a full review later.
Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster
According to the description, this product is clinically proven to restore the healthy look of your skin’s surface layer. I haven’t given it a go on my face yet, but the formula feels very lightweight on the back of my hand and it smells really good. I would definitely test it out on my face later.
Paula’s Choice Vitamin C Spot Treatment
I have heard so many good things about Paula’s Choice, and I can’t wait to see how this spot treatment works!
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (Full Size)
You all know I am a big fan of the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel range but before that was launched in Australia, the Complete Salon Manicure range was my go-to for drugstore nail polish. It’s easy to apply, it delivers great colour, and it won’t stain your nails. The shade I received was #560 Kook A Mango, which is a bright coral pink. Since I don’t usually wear pink, I am going to give this to a friend.
Maybelline New York Color Elixir by Color Sensational (Full Size)
The texture of this one feels kind of in between a lip lacquer and a gloss, which is a very popular trend in lip makeup products this season. Subscribers are supposed to receive one of two shades: #100 Petal Plush or #075 Fuchsia Flourish, and I have received the former. It is a light baby pink with a high shine shimmer in it. This colour doesn’t really work on my skin tone, but I think it will look nice on someone with fairer skin.
Michael Kors Gold Collection
A lovely scent but like I have said before, I am very particular with my perfumes. So I will pass on this one.
Zoeva Eye Brush (Full Size)
The brush I received was #227 Luxe Soft Definer, which is a flat, oval-shaped eyeshadow brush. I haven’t got a chance to test it out yet, but it feels very soft and seems to be a great brush to do blending.
Swisse Deep Sea Hydrating Mist Toner
Since Swisse branched out to manufacture beauty products, I have been wanting to trail some. This toner would be a good start.
Lonvitalite Face Masks (Full Size)
The two cloth masks I have received were C2 Collagen Firming & Moisturising Facial Mask, and C4 Coconut Milk Hydrating & Nourishing Facial Mask. Unlike a lot of cloth masks, these ones from Lonvitalite actually ask you to rinse off the residue after application instead of massage it into your skin. I have only tried the Collagen one. Although the moisturising effect was ok, the cloth mask was a tad drier than I thought and did not sit well on my face. I personally found it a bit frustrating as I expect a cloth mask to stay on my face nice and tight to ensure all the ingredients get delivered to my skin. So unless the coconut one is extremely amazing, I don’t think I will be buying this range of masks.
OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner
This shampoo from OGX is actually one of the very few drugstore shampoos I trust, and I love its conditioner too. I’m very happy to receive the travel size of this duo!
Trilogy Make-up Be Gone Cleansing Balm
I have never come across with a makeup remover in balm form, so this one definitely got me curious.
I won’t say it’s the best beauty box I have ever got, but it has a decent selection of products. I love how its commitment is not as high as a monthly box. And for AUD $25 per quarter, I think it is quite a fun way to sample some of the newbies in the market for each season.
Have you signed up for The Parcel or any other subscription boxes? How was your experience with these boxes?
