As I have said before, I am all about the barely-there type of face makeup. That’s why I wear BB Cream or CC Cream for most of the days. However, there are days I am after a more picture-perfect finish for my skin (Christmas parties, anyone?). And the newly launched Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation and Fix & Protect Primer are my current favourites for the job.
Let’s start with the Fix & Protect Primer (RRP $13.95). It comes with a SPF 25, which is quite good for those who work indoors. The formula is super lightweight with a very subtle hint of shimmer.
Apply it evenly on your face for the primer to create a light-diffusing effect that blurs your imperfections. It can be used as a primer or a stand-alone quick-fix for those days you just want to slap some sunscreen on your face and go.
As a girl who relies heavily on her BB or CC Cream, I am always afraid how foundations may give me a heavy finish, aka a `too-much-caking’ face. But I am so glad this Match Perfection Foundation (RRP $18.95 ea) has busted this myth for me! The formula is almost traceless! It provides a lovely coverage without sacrificing the natural looking skin look. It also has a SPF 20, which is always a plus.
Both #200 Soft Beige and #203 True Beige are meant for medium skin tones. #200 Soft Beige is really close to my original skin tone, so I use it to form the basis of my face makeup.
#203 True Beige is only a tad darker than my skin tone, which makes it perfect for contouring. Just put it on where you’d usually do shading, and you will get a natural contoured complexion.
Not only do these two products give you a poreless finish, but they can also last for a whole day. Worn them on a scorching 30°C day and they held up pretty well! And for their price points, you can easily stock two to three shades for highlighting and contouring. 😉
Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation (available in eight different shades) and Fix & Protect Primer are available from Priceline, Target, Kmart, BIG W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths.
Have you tried these two products before? What kind of coverage would you prefer when shopping for a new foundation?
*Thanks Rimmel London AU for providing the product samples, but the opinions is mine as always.
