I always have a soft spot for lace-up details in shoes. Therefore, this year’s lace-up pointy-toes flats and heels trend is right up my alley! For those who are following my Instagram, you might have seen these beauts already. Yes, these babies are (one of) the latest addition to my growing lace-up shoes family!
Jeffrey Campbell is one of my favourite shoe brands. So it was a no-brainer when I spotted these in a 40% off flash sale on Nasty Gal. And I am glad I did! The nude colour suede is super soft and literally goes with everything! I’ve already worn them to the company’s Christmas lunch and did quite a bit walking in them. No blisters or break-in period! Given their 9.8cm heel height, it’s like a miracle!
I noticed quite a lot of people including Nasty Gal’s own staff say these shoes run smaller if you don’t have narrow feet, but I went with my gut feeling and ordered my usual size 7. Although they fit me fairly well, I’d recommend those with wider feet to go up half a size as the shoe box is quite pointy and narrow.
My only complaint is Nasty Gal’s standard international shipping is a bit slow. It took two whole weeks for these to arrive (versus the 4-7 business days delivery period stated on the website). For my fellow Aussie shoppers, you may want to go with their express shipping if you want these for Christmas.
Moving on to today’s outfit, I wanted to create a casual yet glamorous look. So I paired the heels with this interesting layers skirt from By Johnny and a cropped boyfriend T-shirt. The rose gold satchel and boyfriend watch added a touch of glam to the outfit but still kept it low-key with their boyish accents. I can totally see myself wearing this outfit to a Christmas party!
It’s funny that Mr. D is so against my lace-up flats but totally on board with their heeled counterparts. He gave me a big tick when I wore these the other day. Can I take that as he won’t mind more of these lace-up heeled babies showing up on our doorstep?
Now, it’s your turn to tell me what your latest shoe obsession is.
