As much as I love being a guinea pig in trying out different products, there are some beauty products I just simply can’t live without. Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate, aka the famous `Little Black Bottle’, is one of them. If I were going to be attacked by zombies tomorrow, this baby and its little sister Yeux Light-Pearl are going into my emergency backpack and coming with me right now!
So what’s so great about this little black bottle? Well, the Genifique range focuses on helping to maintain skin youthfulness through their gene science research. This particular serum is designed for all ages and skin types. It boosts visible signs of youthfulness and helps skin’s recovery all day and night.
The little black bottle is also very famous for its pipette. By twisting the pipette, its self-loading dropper automatically draws the ideal doseage you will need for each application. No more I-don’t-know-how-much-serum-I-need-to-draw kind of dilemma.
Ok, we have talked about the merits. Now let’s check out how it works miracle. This watery serum is very fast absorbing. My skin immediately looks smoother and luminous after one application. It feels soft and moisturised, and it radiates with a healthy glow without leaving an unwanted sticky residue! Even my nasolabial lines become less noticeable! How can I not love it!
To maximise its power, use a toner before application and a moisturiser afterwards to ensure all the goodness in its formula is trapped in your skin. I have already gone through bottles of this serum and I find it basically goes with all sorts of skin care products.
But what about the Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-illuminating Youth Activator? This eye serum helps reducing eye bags, dark circles and fine lines. Its `Light-Pearl’ applicator is specifically designed to target the most inaccessible eye areas. I love how the Light-Pearl feels when massaging around my eyes.
Although I don’t have fine lines or dark circles around my eyes, I did get puffy eyes on the day I shot these photos. After applying the eye serum, the puffiness was subsided dramatically leaving my eyes looking brighter and more energised! The one I have here is an older version of the eye serum, and I’d love to try the new one after I finish this bottle.
Both of these products are quite pricey but their results are amazing and definitely worth to bite the bullet. The serum is available in 20ml, 30ml and 50ml which is perfect for someone who wants to do a test run before splurging.
Have you tried any of these products? And do you have any skin care staples you can’t live without?

Thank you so much for your kind words! These two are really quite an investment but trully well-worth the money. Maybe get the 20ml bottle first and see if you like it before splurging. 😉
