Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Dry Review

DSC07916I have fairly dry and sensitive skin, so I am constantly on the lookout for a good facial moisturizer. I have heard so many amazing things about Philosophy’s iconic Hope in a Jar moisturizer in the past but have yet to try it. Finally, my opportunity has come through the mail with this Renewed Hope in a Jar Dry refreshing and refining moisturizer.

In my humble opinion, a good moisturizer is vital in everyone’s beauty routine. It founds the basis of great and healthy skin. Cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection; practise these three beauty regimen religiously all year round, and you will save yourself layers of unnecessary foundation and concealer.

Moving back to this product, it keeps the simple packaging of what you will expect from Philosophy.

This line `philosophy: live with optimism, renew with hope’ on the jar makes me smile every time I see it. It just gives me such a boost of positive energy!

The texture is surprisingly lightweight for a moisturizer that targets normal-to-dry skin. The formula contains a triple blend of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), three forms of Hyaluronate, an Asian fruit extract plus bisabolol for instant and long-lasting hydration.

To be honest with you, I raised my brows in doubt when I first heard about Philosophy was releasing this moisturizer in September. We are heading to summer in Australia now. Wouldn’t it be too rich for warmer days? But oh boy, I was so grateful when it came through the mail to me as a PR sample! Sydney had caught its last chill in the air for the past few weeks, and this moisturizer was a life-safer!

What about the scorching heat we are getting now though? If you are like me who love to blast the air-con in hot days, you are going to love this one. I use it as a night cream, and my skin stays revitalised and moisturised with a healthy glow in the morning! Not too bad for a bare-faced shot, right?

For those who happen to sit in an air-conditioned office all day, this will probably work for you during day time too.  The RRP for Renewed Hope in a Jar Dry is set at AUD $55, and it can be found at select David Jones, Sephora, Mecca Maxima, Adore Beauty, and Skincare Store.

*Thanks Philosophy for providing the product sample, but the opinions is mine as always.
