As a PR girl and an ex-editor, I’ve attended and organised lots of events. But it was my first time to be invited as a blogger to attend a bloggers and fashion industry brunch last Sunday. The brunch was held at the famous Bloody Mary’s in Darlinghurst. Click ahead to see what a group of fashionistas would do when they were bonding over the dining table! 😉
Nat Rap from Interlaced Media was the mastermind behind this beautiful #SydStyleUnite event. She is a lovely fashion blogger and photographer from Brisbane who has held similar events in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Vancouver! It was so nice of her to organise all these for us to connect and help support each other’s work in a relaxed setting.
Nat also partnered with Dress for Success Sydney for this event. It is a non-profit organisation that improves the employability of women in need in NSW by providing free professional clothing and support services. It was great to hear how they collect gently used business attire and accessories to help restore confidence in those less fortunate ladies who are breaking in or returning to the workforce. We were invited to make a donation of clothing as well as unused makeup and toiletries. For those who are interested in what Dress for Success Sydney do, feel free to head over to their website.
It was like a dream to meet such a talented group of Sydney-based bloggers, photographers, illustrators, stylists, PR representatives, designers, and of course, Nat in person. For example, this event poster was created by Nina Norden who is an amazing illustrator. Too bad that I didn’t get a chance to catch Nina and some of the lovely attendees, but the talent present was truly mind-blowing!
Other than having some tasties and chatting up, we also went out to the back lane to take some #OOTD photos of each other. It’s such a great feeling to finally meet someone who doesn’t find posing and taking photos in front of a garage door bizarre!
My outfit photos here were shot by the lovely Lucy O’ Connor from Lucy Loves to Sparkle! Thanks for bearing with my mobile (I have left my camera at home, stupid me), Lucy!
Some details of my outfit.
Thank you Nat once again for organising the brunch, and I look forward to seeing you all lovelies sometime real soon!
