Spring Ready: A Fresh Chop and New Hair Colour

DSC07008Yes, I got a chop! Not only did it mark the changes of seasons, but it was also completely necessary as my last haircut has totally grown out of shape.

Some of my friends might have already known that I have wanted a chop for quite a while. I have kept a very similar hair style for a long time, and this time, I really wanted to change things up by going shorter.

I have very thick hair with natural curls. Once my lovely stylist, Marcia knew I was dead-set on going short, she immediately pointed out some of the swoon-worthy lobs (aka longer bobs) in magazines may not work very well on me. Instead, she suggested me to go a little longer in the front, and shorter in the back – somewhere in between a bob and a lob.

I also went for a lighter hair colour alongside this A-line cut for the upcoming warmer seasons in Australia.

Given my fringe is at an awkward stage of growing long, I can either part it with some hair product or leave it as it is. But other than that, this seems to be a fairly easy cut to style.

I haven’t gone this short for almost 10 years. What about you? Do you prefer long hair or short hair?
